PocketDrum uses different connection methods depending on how you use it. See the scenarios below:
1. Drumsticks and Pedals Connection (to Adapter)
PocketDrum 2 Max uses a Bluetooth connection to connect the drumsticks and pedal to the adapter. This is the default connection for regular use and usually requires no manual pairing.
2. Audio Output (Headphones or Speakers)
PocketDrum does not support Bluetooth audio output, so headphones or speakers must be connected via a wired 3.5mm TRS cable. Bluetooth earphones or speakers cannot be used.
3. Music Playback (via Phone)
To play along with music from your phone:
- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone.
- Select “PocketDrum Audio” from the Bluetooth device list.
- Play music on your phone.
- Connect wired headphones or speakers to the adapter to hear the sound.
Note: Bluetooth earphones or speakers are not supported; audio output must use a wired connection.
4. MIDI Mode (via Computer)
To use PocketDrum as a MIDI controller:
- Connect the adapter to your computer using a USB-C to Type-C cable.
- Open your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).
- Select “USB MIDI” as the input device.
- Start playing using the drumsticks.
