No. If you use PocketDrum 2 Max as a MIDI controller, you can connect it directly to a computer via a wired connection without an additional audio interface.
When connected, PocketDrum 2 Max sends MIDI data (such as pad trigger and velocity information) to the computer. Your DAW software (such as Cubase, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Studio One, or Reaper) can then use this MIDI data to trigger virtual instruments and generate sound.
Please note:
- When using a wire connection, please use a USB cable that supports data transfer.
- If you want to record audio from external audio equipment, an audio interface may be required depending on your recording setup and software.
- For MIDI performance and controlling software instruments, an additional audio interface is not required.
