In some cases, the Soundbank cannot be upgraded using the standard Soundbank installation tool due to hardware differences or system issues/ bugs that prevent the upgrade from completing normally.
In these situations, an alternative recovery method is required.
⚠️ Important Notes Before Performing a Soundbank Upgrade
- Some AeroBand Guitar models manufactured before 2025 do not support Soundbank upgrades and cannot be updated, so they will remain on the current Soundbank version.
If the latest Soundbank is incorrectly or forcibly installed on an unsupported device, the guitar may become completely unusable. Please do not attempt to perform the upgrade.
The alternative upgrade tool and Soundbank pack files can only be opened and used on a Windows computer.
Do not interrupt the connection during the upgrade process.
1. Checking whether your guitar supports Soundbank upgrades
Follow the steps below to determine whether your guitar supports Soundbank upgrades:
- Connect your guitar to the Upgrade tool and check the device name.
- If the device name is displayed as "SWK Sound SWK Sound(RPC)", it is an older version and does not support Soundbank upgrades.
- If the device name is displayed as "AeroBand Guitar-Midi", your guitar supports Soundbank upgrades.
⚠️Note: If your guitar is not successfully connected, the Device field will appear blank.
2. Selecting the Correct Soundbank File for Your Guitar Version
AeroBand Guitar (AG) versions are divided into AG 1.0 and AG 1.1.
- AG 1.0 applies to models starting with 2, which are compatible with Soundbank 222 and Soundbank 238.
- AG 1.1 applies to models starting with 3, which are compatible with Soundbank 302 and Soundbank 318.
Different guitar models require specific Soundbank files for successful upgrades, so it is important to select the correct Soundbank file based on your guitar version.
Please follow the steps below to check your guitar version.
Connect your guitar to the “Aeroband-Soundbank” tool.
Check the number displayed in the upper-right corner of the page to identify whether the model number starts with 2 or 3.
Then select the corresponding Soundbank file for the upgrade.
⚠️Note: If the guitar version or current Soundbank version is unclear, please contact support@aeroband.net with the email address used to register your guitar app account. The support team will assist in identifying your guitar version and providing the appropriate Soundbank file.
